Apology

Say sorry in a way they can feel

A typed “sorry” is easy to send and easy to ignore. Taking the time to make something shows that you mean it. This page starts in the rain. As they read your apology and the promises you make, the sky clears.

Free. No ads. They need no app and no account to open it.

What they see

  • Your first line, alone, in the rain.
  • Your apology, in your own words.
  • What you will do differently, as a short list of promises.
  • A photo of the two of you that starts in black and white and fills with colour as they scroll.
  • A cloud they push away themselves.
  • Your question to them at the end, such as “Can we talk?”

How to write an apology that works

  • Name what you did. “I’m sorry for what I said on Sunday” is stronger than “I’m sorry for everything”.
  • Say how it affected them, without explaining it away.
  • Leave out “but”. Reasons can wait for the conversation.
  • Promise only what you will really do.
  • End with a question, not a demand. They decide what happens next.

A page is not instead of a conversation

The page opens the door. It gives them your words to read in their own time, without having to answer straight away. The talk still has to happen.

Because an apology is private, the page can be locked with a PIN, and it is deleted 7 days after it opens.

Questions

Can anyone else see my apology?

Only someone who has the link. Add a PIN and they need that too. Search engines are told not to list it.

Can I use it for a friend or a family member?

Yes. Every line on the page is yours to write, so it fits a partner, a friend, a sibling or a parent.

Can I edit it after sending?

Yes. Changes show up on the same link straight away.

I’m Sorry

It starts in the rain and clears as they read: your honest words, the promises you make, a cloud they push away and a question only they can answer.
